Spring Cleaning
Spring is here, and that often means a little spring cleaning is on the agenda. While indoor dusting and outdoor raking may be obvious places to start, the garage and shed are generally overlooked. Don’t make that mistake again this year.
Declutter
Many items usually end up in your garage, as you plan to deal with it later. Later is fast approaching, and you won’t want to deal with some of it soon enough as the higher temperatures settle in. Start by sorting items into four categories – Keep, Donate, Sell, Toss. Pack up things to donate, schedule a garage sale if that’s your plan, and trash or recycle items you’re purging.
Organize
If you set up strategic and organized systems, the areas become more helpful throughout the seasons. There are mounds of space saving tips out there. Garage wall organizers and ceiling mounts are a few nifty options to consider.
Keep it Up
Once you have things organized, don’t let yourself fall into the chaotic mess again. Keep floor space as free as possible, and keep like things together. You’ll be glad you did later. You may also want to give the floor space a good sweeping and hose down regularly. Don’t forget to purge your garage again next year!
