Renovating Your Garage

Renovating Your Garage

October 23, 2017

If you have ever thought about adding a man cave or a cozy teenage hangout in your home but just don’t have the space, we have the solution for you. Ever thought about remodeling? With a few flooring changes and just the right organization you can add more living space to your home by renovating your garage. Or change it into a few other spaces, too.

For the evening hangout space, you can add a section of carpet in your garage. Move in some furniture and a TV. Grab some popcorn, and you’ll be ready to go for movie night or Monday night football. Ensuring you have good insulation in the space is a must, too. Nothing turns a cozy space into dreary like cold concrete floors and poorly insulated walls.

Perhaps you could use an at-home office. If you have some good windows and an entryway door for customers, a corner of your garage may be all you need. You can keep this space separate by using two distinct floor coverings. Tile, hardwood, or carpet might be nice options. Even creating a nook for your desk will really give your office its own space way from your vehicles in the garage.

If you are more so looking for your indoor workshop, you can stay out of the elements without giving up parking space in your garage. Foldable workbenches and peg board storage systems will be the way to go to bring all your tools to your fingertips . You can even add a new look to your space. Durable floor coverings like epoxy might be a great option, too.

While these other ideas sound great, maybe all you really need is miscellaneous storage space. Space saving tips will be key whether you are crafty, an outdoorsman, or have boxes full of decorations. While renovating your storage space, you can always add some design, too. Your garage may be a catch-for-all, but you may still want to be able to walk through it or even continue to park your car.

Let your ideas grow by renovating your garage. Call us at the Overhead Door Company of Western Kentucky™ if you have any questions or are looking for a new door as part of your remodel.
